A good way for people to understand what is racism really, is showing them real facts and not very distant from us. One of the place more affected because of this ideology, was South Africa with the Apartheid, Ichose this because last year I had read Mandela s story and it was very shocked, know I am his admired.
South Africa was colonized by Dutch and English in the 17 century, the descendants of the Dutch knowns as Boers or Afrikaners  established their colonies and had discovered diamonds in those lands. In the 19 century because of the discovered, there was an English invasion that resulted in the  Boer war. After the independence from England in  1940 the National Afrikaners Party won strongly with a big percent, they created the Apartheid, like a way to consolid  the economic and social power, maintaining the white dominance and the racial segregation. As characteristics of the Apartheid they prohibited the marriage between white and any other race, sexual relationships between whites and blacks, public places where different for white people and for no white people, transport was different too, black people live in homelands where they did not have all the necessary things to lived while white people were living in the cities, although there were   created the pass laws that demanded to the no whites people documents to entered or being in many areas. Obviously this generated lot of resistance in any form thought  from non white people: there were manifestations ,no violence strikes, political reactions and even armed resistance. Many of the discriminant started to be part of different organizations and they were victims of cruel oppressions. But their armed resistance had never been a problem to the Government of that time, even many of the rebel leaders had been killed or had been arrested like in the case of Nelson Mandela (figure of the resistance, he was arrested in   1963 to 1990) . His imprisonment called the International attention and helped to fight with the Apartheid.
Lot of colour people including students and children started to declined the fact of respecting the pass laws, that then were repealed, and the obligatory used of the afrikaner in different ways of their culture. In the 70 century the ONU dicted a certain resolutions about the Apartheid obliging the Government repealed some laws and flexing some others. This longs fight ended in a new Constitution where blacks and others racial groups had political and others types of rights. This had enter in vigor when in 1994 , creating as results that in the elections would win the majority non white and that  mark the end of the Apartheid.
